I finished reading the book on musicians in the first half of the century, and have discovered that I get to completely rewrite one of the main characters in the O.S. Fun, fun. On the plus side, I figured out what to do with him, and I like it better, and I think his side of the story will be improved.
However, it does pose the problem that I, who can't play a single instrument, am now going to be writing about a jazz band.
This could be bad, or scary, or just very very wrong. One can listen to Thelonious Monk until the cows come home, but isn't going to help me with clues how practice sessions work.
(Or radio appearances, or recording sessions, or or or....)
Argh. Back to Amazon, see if I can't find another decent source.....
