I hate Pretty. Odd. Yeah, I pretty much hate the entire album with a few exceptions. The Beatles influence is too strong, and I really dislike the Beatles, so... Yeah.
I do, however, LOVE LOVE LOVE "Folkin' Around"! Oh my god. Why didn't they just make an entire folk album?! I need that Decaydance Folk Bands AU IN MY SOUL.
I also like "Pas De Chaval," "NiTA," "When The Day Met The Night," and "Mad As Rabbits," but it's a marginal thing. :P The second half of the album is far and above better than the first half.
Blah, Panic. Take your Beatles spasm and stuff it. Next album, please write something that sounds more like you guys and less like something so well-known. It pains me that fewer critics aren't blasting them for the songs that are heavy on the sound-theft.
I will say, though, that this is a far more mature sound than their last album and I'll be looking forward to where they go from here. Fair play, Jon Walker. Good job.
