Can't sleep. So I'm bringing you this little bit of squee instead.
Some guy I've never heard of named Ryan Russell apparently spent some time on tour with My Chemical Romance over the last few weeks. As it turns out, he's a pretty unbelievably awesome photographer.
Mr. Russell has captured what I consider to be the most attractive picture of Gerard Way ever taken. Yes, that Gerard Way, who at almost every turn I roundly mock.
Congratulations, Gerard, you're officially a Rock Star now.

I say "attractive" specifically because, more so than any one aesthetically pleasing feature of Gerard or this photograph, there is a general feeling of magnetism in this image. The fierce expression. The pose of hip. (The really great texture of the new style Black Parade jacket.)
There's an amazing sort of young classic rock vibe about this picture, presented in modern form and color. This is Onstage Gerard, with the mythic swagger and presence of young Mick Jagger or Steven Tyler.
This is true photography, capturing the essence of a moment, made more genuinely awe-inspiring by the fact that any member of this fandom knows that Offstage Gerard is as close to the antithesis of the person pictured here as is humanly possible.
I may be in love with this picture.
