New Niece! School Stuff....and dancing concert!
Yesterday afternoon my sister had her baby. Another little girl! Her name is Amelia. Odd that she chose that name as it was a name I was considering if I ever had another girl.... She was one week early too which is probably good, otherwise she ran the risk of being born on Christmas Day. My sister felt her baby was going to come early.
I handed in my resignation at work last week. I will finish up on the 11th January. I start my new job on the 29th January. It sounds like I'll get a couple of weeks off work...but in reality....I have SOOOOOO much work to prepare for school that it isn't funny. It will be worse than being back at uni!..lol.
Yesterday I went to the school, (btw...the school is called Mar Narsai Assyrian College), to get soft copies of some of the programs I need to teach. They ended up having me stay for the day as a casual teacher. It was the kids last day of school...and to say that they were feral is an understatement. Oh...how glad I am that I will not have to be doing the whole casual teacher thing while I await a full time job!! I am SO thankful for this!
Today I went to the school again to do a first aid course. They asked me yesterday if I would do it. Seeing as I didn't have work at Salmat today I agreed. It took all day. There went my last day off before Christmas.... I still have Christmas shopping etc to do....and I have no idea now when I'll get to do it! As usual though...I'll squeeze everything in somewhere I am sure.
Tonight when Kurt picked Arielle up to take her out for dinner with his new g/f...I broke the news to him that he won't be able to come over early Christmas morning to be here while Arielle opens her presents from Santa. The reason for this is because Simon and Aidan are going to stay over on Christmas Eve this year and the kids can have Santa come to both of them here. Kurt refused to contribute to the Christmas presents I've bought Arielle ,(and I hate to say it...but she is getting FAR too much...and it was quite by accident)....and he wants to take her to his g/f's straight afterwards anyway....so why should he be here? Now he's decided to be unreasonable and says he won't bring her back until 3pm which means she will miss Christmas at my parents house with all of my family. He's already had Christmas with her and his family last weekend....so be damned if she is going to miss it with mine!
Arielle had her dancing concert last Friday night and ....for those who are interested....
