Summary: She was worried. He felt uneasy. But he know to whom the best he could give.
Sitting impassively on the sofa and looking blankly at the television screen she didn’t even bothered to turn on, she couldn’t help but smile spotting his favorite game console on the table. She knew how much he loved playing but she still hopes he wouldn’t be too absorbed in it. She shook her head with a slight chuckle realizing that she’s probably the only person who could make him really stop playing, the only person who could make him put down the console by her mere presence, unless of course she’s playing too.
Her smile faded though when her eyes caught sight of another object on the table. Her script for her latest movie, the one she’d be working on with Oguri Shun, Gaku: Peak. She couldn’t help but heave a sigh as she leaned back on the sofa.
“What’s with sigh? Problems?” suddenly came, a voice startling her. Turning around his smiling face entered her field of vision.
“Nothing in particular…” she replied, trying to hide her worries.
“Really?” he asked knowingly as he sat next to her, putting his arm over her shoulders.
“Hmmm…” she mumbled, being the only sound she could make herself produce.
“Okay then…” he grinned, reaching out for the game console on the table. “Want to play Mario?”
“That will be a good idea…” she chuckled, grabbing the game console from him. She thought it was a good idea, the game might help her loosen up.
After a few games though, all of which she lost despite the fact that she’s relatively good with Mario and that some of those were at the relatively easy stage, she felt his arms encircling her waist and saw him leave the console back on the table.
“What is it?” he asked.
“What is what?”she said, acting as though nothing different has happened. “Pick up your console… We’re not yet finished…”
“Something is bothering you…” he said, ignoring her demand. He shifted his position to face her as he added “Why won’t you tell me? You know I’ll listen…”
“How’d you know?” she sighed, putting down the console herself.
“How couldn’t I know, Ma-chan?” he chuckled, gently brushing her waist. “Of course I’d know…”
“Remember my next project?” she started after a while. “The movie?”
“The mountain-climbing one?”
“Yes…”
“What about it?”
She turned around to look at him and saw in his eyes warmth and understanding of what possible troubles she may be facing. What she saw really was just a small matter, but at that moment, it’s not a small matter to her.
Feeling him caress her long hair slowly as his fingers slid through it, she couldn’t help but close her eyes.
“Ma-chan?”
“Hm…”
“Tell me about it…”
“Kazu…” she sighed. “You did say you love seeing me with long hair, right?”
“Yeah… So?” he frowned.
“I kind of need to cut it short…” she said. “For the role…”
“How short exactly would it will be?”
“This short…” she muttered, putting her hand at her nape.
“Oh…”
“Would that be okay for you?” she asked anxiously.
There was silence for a while before she heard him burst into laughter. He even grinned widely as he kissed her cheek, making her scowl a little.
“That’s what you’re worrying about?” he chuckled. “You also had quite a short hair when the two of us started dating so it’s okay…”
“Of course I’ll worry!” she pouted. “I don’t want you to be shocked or anything when it’s suddenly there…”
He smiled. “You’re an actress, I know that… If that’s what the role requires of you, then it’s something you should do… I should know since I even went bald one time just because of a role…”
She smiled hearing his words. He is an actor, too, after all. And he knew how things are needed to be done.
“And…” he continued.
“And what?” she asked.
“You can always grow it back after the filming…” he said, winking at her. This made her giggle.
“I will…” she smiled.
“And don’t forget to take care of yourself…” he added as he pulled her close to him. “It’d be extremely cold there…”
“I will…”
“Don’t forget to eat on time.”
“Hey, that’s my line!” she chuckled, hearing him say one of her usual reminders to him.
“Don’t stress yourself too much…” he continued after chuckling a bit.
“But you said to give it my all…” she countered cheekily.
“Yeah… But if you get sick, I’d have to take care of you later… That’d be quite troublesome…” He groaned teasingly.
“That’s mean!” she pouted.
“And…”
“And?”
“Don’t start flirting with Shun-kun…” he said with utmost finally, looking at her seriously.
“Of course I won’t!” she chuckled, elbowing him.
He chuckled too, for a bit before he got serious again.
“It’ll be long, right?”
She nodded. Her filming schedule starts in two days since she’d have to undergo trainings and all those stuff before they actually start. It sort of worked out fine though, since he’d be filming Ohoku around that same timeline too.
“Kazu…” she called.
“Hmmm?”
“You too…”
“Me too what?”
“Don’t flirt with Shibasaki-san…” she said. “And I’ll know if you do since Maki-chan will tell me…”
“But she’s playing my love interest…” he said, teasing her. This earned him another elbow at the ribs.
“I won’t…” he told her seriously, making her smile.
“Oh yeah… You said you wanted to talk to me about the script of your movie?” she asked.
“You’ve heard of Ohoku right?” he asked seriously. “I mean, it’s manga-based so you must have…”
“Not really… Though I heard there’d be some man relationship or something…”
“So you do know about it...” he chuckled. “But that’s not the one I’m feeling a bit uneasy on…”
She only looked at him, waiting for him to continue his explanation.
“It has kiss scenes… And bedroom scene…” he muttered, looking straight into her eyes. “You know that I don’t really like those kinds of scenes, right?”
She nodded. He rarely did have those kinds of scenes. And despite the number of works under his belt already, there are only quite a few that dealt with those kinds of stuff (Kiiroi Namida and Minami-kun no Koibito for example) while most of her own works had them. He’d occasionally get sulky when she tells him that she’d have to do those kinds of scenes in her dramas but he’d still allow her to do it since it is part of the job and it is needed in the story. They are both professionals, after all.
“It can’t be helped…” she chuckled, trying to give him his own wisdom. “It’s what the role requires you to give…”
“So you won’t be jealous?” he challenged.
She pretended to think deeply before chuckling seeing him frown. “I can just skip those parts when I watch it...”
Nino grinned. “So you’re not going to ask who I’m going to kiss?”
“Maki-chan?”
“Nope…” he said, his grin growing wider. “Shibasaki-san.”
She pouted a bit before she chuckled, hugging him tighter.
“It’ll be difficult for me…” she heard him whisper in her ear as he hugged her back.
“Why?”
“I don’t want to have to repeat those kinds of scenes for many times…”
“It can’t be helped…” she smiled. “Just do your best the first time so don’t you don’t have to repeat it over and over again…”
Letting her go, he looked straight into her eyes and asked “For that to happen, I need to practice right?”
She frowned, not following where he’s going at although she spotted quite a mischievous grin forming on his lips. “Eh…?”
“Would you like to help me practice?” he asked, his face moving closer to hers but never quite close enough.
A sweet smile formed on her lips as she finally caught up on what he really and quite plainly intended to do in the first place.
“Of course I’d help you practice…” she whispered back as Nino’s lips closed in on hers, kissing her passionately, much, much more passionately than any other kiss the two of them would ever show on screen.
