I have been contemplating the plagued existance of zombies and just what it is that makes them as they are... for instance: why is it that when a perfectly normal being dies and comes back as a zombie, they are suddenly much stronger than they were before? As the question was posed to me, why is it that zombies can bite through skulls? I have come to a conclusion that answers these questions and more.
The nerves in the body of a zombie don't work correctly. They work enough to process body movement, but not enough to contemplate pain. The zombie operates sheerly on natural instinct, and the muscles in the body have no way of informing the zombie when they have reached the point of maximum strain. Therefore, the zombie can preform feats of tremendous strength due to the fact that the muscles can't tell the body to stop.
Zombies can, on this same train of thought, bite into skulls because they can't tell that their teeth are breaking or that their jaw muscles are tearing.
All in all, Zombies are freakin crazy. You ever come across one, I simply suggest running. You'll never win in hand to hand combat, and the head is the only weakspot, so don't be stupid... that zombie will friggin kill you.
