Days like today really make me miss my social network. Looking at pictures of my friend's back home- seeing their smiles and group hugs, drinks in hand, makes me sigh and feel like I am really missing out. Not only on the escapism that friend's offer you but the support. Venturing out across the country alone without the prospect of hopping on a plane or in a car for a weekend jaunt is very lonesome at times. I didn't realize how large of a network I had until I gave it up. Isn't that always the way? Don't know what you've got until it's gone.
