I just got accepted to an internship at MOD Worldwide as part of my graduation requirement. I graduate in 77 days. WTF. I really wanted to intern with Mythos Media, but they didn't meet my school's requirements so I am settling for a more "conventional" opportunity. However, the creative director at Mythos Media is quite cool and extended the internship offer to this summer which may allow me to become involved in post production on their first feature length film. This guy comes highly recommended by Genesis P-Orridge, Neil Gaiman, and Alex Grey and contributed a chapter to one of my latest fave reads - Generation Hex...
We have been spoiled rotten with shows this year... Re:Vamp (live Ministry dj set), The Azoic, Les Claypool, Saul Williams, Secret Chief 3, tomorrow Brian Jonestown Massacre, Throbbing Gristle in two weeks, and Jane's Addiction / Nine Inch Nails this June. We missed Prometheus Burning last night due to Pettit losing track of time in New York.
As a band, I am becoming somewhat more confident with TOG, a three piece with Pettit on bass, Jenn singing and playing a synth/workstation combo and me on v-drums and sampling. It is decidedly more aggressive than I would like to sound at times, but has certainly helped me improve my metal chops. HI-YA! I finally broke through whatever recording block i was having with syncing my laptop, audio interface, and logic to replace the digital multitracker i was using. i guess it just seems like i spend so much time learning a piece of gear and then it gives up the ghost (my last synth, my last computer and samplitude - the software i was using, the multitracker) that it takes me a while to adjust to a new set up. anyway, the studio space is pretty small but now unbelievably efficient and after close to a year of working on the same 5 songs i think we'll have a demo out by june.
