Apparently I can fix motor cars. I hadn't been aware that I owned this skill but judging by todays performance I do indeed and am indeed capable...
First we locate the faulty part. In this case the distributor and rotary arm.
Remove the clips, the connecting leads and the cover. Note which order the leads are connected and preferably make yourself a swanky, number coded diagram. Proceed to disengage the cap. Removal of the rotary arm follows and a replacement unit is installed. No photo here as the camera was at risk of being polluted by engine dirt.
Align the new distributor cap and replace the cover and clips. Begin to replace the leads in the order they were removed.
Admire the newly installed component.
