well a new year and some new objectives...

first a quote...

"earth speaks through wilderness.... In Canada we still have a moment to listen... "

found this quote while browsing the web @ work, and it said something to me... something i belive to be very true... something that makes me proud to be a canadian... i think far to many people forget that we are only ants on a giant ant hill we call earth, we forget that we are living creatures on a LIVING planet...

anyways...

xmass was good... spent a ton of time with my family as well as my gf's family... too much good food makes the stomac hurt... as per usual my eyes are bigger then my stomac.. here's a list of the wonderful gifts i recieved, followed by a list of the boxing day/week shoping scores:

XMASS:

- plane tickets for skiing from feb 24th - march 7th
- Park Tools bike stand for tunning my bikes
- spice rack
- Henckel Steak knifes
- Henckel Scissors (spell?)
- some camping stuff (100,000 Candle power flash light)
- some clothes, including a wicked North Face sweater from the GF.
- a men's Clinique facial kit
and a few other small things..

Boxing Week:

- A new queen size Serta Texada Pillow Top Mattress and split box set (my futon was killing my back, it was seriously TIME for a change)
- a new 27" Flat Screen CRT Sony Wega TV
- a 8" Henckel Santoku chef's knife (http://database.zwilling.com/artikelbilder/popup/31118180.jpg)
- another set of 6 henckel steak knifes
- 2 pairs of North Face Cargo pants
- cross country skiing gloves...

so yah.. it was a good xmass on all accounts.. my sister was in bc with tim for the holidays, so that was the only low point (yes i know, but i do enjoy her and tim's company).. all in all it was a very productive holiday season... i also got to fall in love with skate skiing... as you all know I have been trying to run / get fit for cycling in a serious way. but running has never been my thing.. at my size its just too hard an impact sport for me... but i have finally found the rythm to my skate skiing... and am finding it to be an awsome workout, in addition to a great time...

2005 is going to invole, NO FAST FOOD, paying off dumb debts, furthering my knowledge in perl, php, mysql, writing the solaris 9 certification exams, and preparing to move out..

but yah...

a belated MERRY XMASS, and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all..
