well its been a while since i last updated... just been busy...
busy biking... busy with work... busy with school / studying for my CCNA cert... which i just wrote this morning and PASSED! so i am now a Cisco Certified Network Associate... i know its not much, but its the first step towared where i want to be, so its put me in a good mood for now...
have 384MB of RAM on order for the Sun boxes, and next thing at hand it setting up NFS, and doing a network install of Solaris 9 on 2 of the boxes, then setting up Bind and DNS for my domain... should all be getting underway in the next month or so... :)
work is alright, i applied to be an FST (Field Service Technician aka Phone Repair Guy)... its basically a lateral xfre from here career wise... bottom of the rung, but climbing the ladder that i want to be on... this place leads to paper pushing jobs, nothing else... in that union it leads to all the technical jobs that i want, the funthings that i can get my hands dirty with...
plus i have come to relaise that i might not get that 'dream' job just right now, ill have to wait, work and study hard to get there, so i might end up here for a few years.... so if i move to an FST ill top out @ $55 - 60,000 and if i stay here it's @ about $44,000, so not only is it a good career move in the long run, its a good financial move....
oh.. movie girl just dissapeared again (did this once befor this summer), so i have given that up (long ago actually) and moved on... my teacher friend found new life with her BF, and I realised that she wasnt really for me, she was part of it, but not it...
which brings me back to the long weekend biking @ my cabin, i met a girl who was biking with us that weekend... she was a triathlete just like the other people i was biking with (aside from JL)... she was HOT, CUTE, and could hammer it with best of us... now here i sit 3-4 weeks later totally falling for her... we've been to dinner (Well we cooked a crasy dinner), a movie, and biking about 5 times... she even dropped me going up a 5km hill in southern manitoba..
she's what i want, when i want it... a friend that i can do the things i love with, and who not only enjoys them as much as i do, but has the same passion to succeed that i do... shes smart, whitty, funny, french, stupidly fit (hell she is on the national triathlon team going to world in New Zealand in December)... she ski's and she just fun to be around... who know where its gonna go, but i am enjoying the ride as we get there... friendship or more, its just cool to know this girl...
anyways i should get back to work!
