"So Fox, what've you been up to lately?"

"I've been tryin' to piece my life back together; and so far, it's been progressing pretty well. How 'bout yourself?"

"Much the same. Since you left I didn't really know what to do with myself, so I just picked up and left. And after 18 months, here I am."

"Yea dude, you just picked up and left everything. You didn't leave a calling card or anything!" I chuckled and nodded nonchalantly as though he could see me. "It took almost that long just to track you down. You wanna know how I did it? I had to track Tyler down which was hard enough, then I had to convince him to tell me your number!"

"Wait a sec. I didn't tell Tyler my number, nor did I even talk to him since I left." Something didn't feel right. Something about this situation gave me goosebumps down my back.

"Well it turns out Tyler had been looking for you too. I mean, obviously, he'd find more security in you than in me, ya know what I mean?" Fox chuckled nervously to try to ease the tense atmosphere that had developed in the past couple minutes.

"Haha...yea. I guess that makes sense. But who did he find it from?"

"Well, it took quite the price to find all that out. And all I ask is that you pay a small price in return for all this."

"Wait, what the fuck?! Look, I left because I didn't want to stay in that world. I'm a different man now, I've got a girl, a place to stay, and finally I feel confident in a world that I wasn't so sure about..."

"No no no, you've got it all wron--"

"Oh yea? Then what the hell do you mean you want a price? And why the fuck were you two lookin' for me in the firs--"

"DUDE!! Just listen to what i have to say!" Several minutes passed and Fox took the silence as a sign to continue. "Okay. I'm in Pasadena right now and I'm going to be in your neck of the woods in about two hours. All I want you to do for me is to meet up with me somewhere."

Again, several minutes passed as I took all this in. Fox whom I had left behind a year and a half ago, was suddenly two hours away from my apartment and he wanted to meet up with me. All of a sudden, as though a floodgate had opened, I had all these questions that I wanted answers to, and Fox was the only person who could answer them. "Yea sure man, I'll meet up with ya."

"Awesome dude, awesome. I hope I'm not interrupting anything, but I'll give you a call back later. I'm gettin' pulled over for some reason... shit."

"Haha, that sucks man. Aiight, give me a call back when you're in the area."

"Aiight Dean, I'll be seein' ya. Till then, fuck the police man. This shit is fucked up."

Fox's voice trailed off as he hung up his phone. "Yea, see ya soon man." I had so many questions circling in my mind. I felt my chest grow heavy and my heart lept to my throat. My eyes wandered to the clock and it read 6:06 PM. "T-minus 120 minutes and counting," I whispered to myself. That was the countdown till I get my questions answered.

"Dean? You alright? What's going on?"

"Nothing. I'm going to head out to meet up with Fox in a couple hours." Tila floated over to me and wrapped her arms around my body.

"Is everything going to be okay? You seem kind of shaken."

"Yea, it's been a long time since I've talked to Fox and I finally get a chance to have my questions answered."

Tila looked at me and said, "I wish I could go with you, but I feel as though this is something that you need to do on your own." She unhooked her arms and walked into the bedroom, casually looking back at me before disappearing into the room. "Kate!"

"What do you want!"

"If anyone calls for me in the next hour or two, tell them I'm not here!"

"Okay Tila..." Kate glanced sideways at me and winked. "I think she wants you in there Dean if you know what I mean. Roawrr!!!"

"Oh right. Thanks for the heads up again," I said sarcastically. I started towards the bedroom and I could feel Kate's catish eyes on my back. She turned up the TV and got up to make a cocktail. She was always fond of her after-dinner cocktail. As I entered the bedroom I could see Tila leaning on the balcony looking towards the city lights in the distance. As I closed the door behind me, I could hear Chappelle on the TV trying to compete with the blender that Kate had just flipped on. Click. "Come here baby."
