Long time no update

I haven't made an update in a while. Anyways, I quit my job at the gas station. That was crap. I asked for a Thursday night off so I could go to the ASU season opener but instead I found myself working overtime that week. It was also starting to get in the way of my studying. Right now I'm just taking it easy w/ the couple grand I saved up so I'm going to coast until December.

I've been job hunting. I had one interview at Bank of America for a purchasing program but that didn't pan out. I don't know, the shirt I was going to wear to the interview required cufflinks and I didn't even know it. At the last minute I had to change my whole outfit and I felt totally uncomfortable. I got one of the automated e-mails a week later after my interview that was like "we get a lot of qualified candidates... sorry to you... we'll keep your name in our database." Oh well...

So I went ahead and signed up for 18 more on-campus interviews. Damn am I going to be busy this semster. I figure atleast one of them will want to hire me. Right now the only company that is dying for my nuts is a contractor for the US military to do logistics for the Army. No, I would not be in the army, just working for the army. The pay is okay... GS7 only pays $35k to start. In one year you become GS9 which is 40k and then in two years you're GS11 making a little over $48k. The starting money doesn't sound that great... but to be pretty much guaranteed 50k after two years of professional work is pretty damn sweet. I don't really want to leave Phoenix though... so that's why I've put my name in for 18 more on-campus interviews. Hell, I haven't even looked into jobs that pertain to my CIS degree... but there's atleast 10 more companies I could probably talk too.

Carrie, my ex-gf, left me a voicemail about 2-3 weeks ago -- she gave me her cell number. It's weird. I haven't talked to her in 9 months. I miss her and shit... but I've already called twice in the last 3 weeks just to hear her voicemail. I'm going to call one more time, but after that I quit. I just want to talk to her considering I might be leaving the state come the new year and she did have a lot to do w/ my schooling. I think two of my favorite school momments was when I let her copy off my art history final. It was funny because I did really well in the class and she was copying off me, and she was an art major! Another time I had to take an exam so I was short on free time and I had her create a oral presentation for me while I was in class. I remember running home to put on a tie for my presentation and she pretty much briefed me on want my presentation was going to be about. I did pretty damn good on that presentation too thanks to her research.

I'm pretty much back to my lazy old ways but now I occupy my free time with job searching and reading books about how to perform better in interviews. I got an Xbox again... so yay, I play that. Fun Fun.
