Any of y'all out there in lj-land have memories connected to songs? Like, whenever it comes on, all these thoughts of events and feelings/emotions of people just come flooding back in. I have those moments a lot. In fact, I stopped playing one of my cds because of it. And the other song, well, I can't really avoid it at the moment.
It's just so strange how we tend to associate tangible objects to intangible experiences. Probably why humans are so sentimental. We try to hold on to whatever semblance of the past for whatever reasons.
What a bummer, I really liked those songs, too. Damn it.
Just thinking about the songs has the same effect. It's a no-win situation. Does it mean I still have feelings about the person or are my feelings attached the experience and not necessarily the people who experience the experiences as I'm experiencing it. Yeah, rock that sentence.
On a random-but-slightly-related note, if I were to walk up to you, you being a stranger, and just out of the blue spouted out some crazy notion like, "Hey, I don't do this often. In fact, I've never asked a complete stranger this, but would you like to go get some coffee?" or something along those lines, what would you say? Be honest.
And I'm spent.
