college and knitting

oh and speaking of college related things. My family recently tried to convince me to go back to college. Reasonable. However, what their reasoning was....

Aunt: "well if you can't get a nursing degree, get accounting or something."

me: what in the world am I going to do with an accounting degree

Aunt: you don't need to use it, just get it so you can have your husband's respect.

umm yeah. college is probably different for them than how it is now. Its probably a lot more competitive today than it was then, for one thing. And going to college for a degree you never use... thats basically saying you're going to college for your MRS. The only difference is that you're getting a husband AND a degree rather than just a husband.

Nuh uh. there is no way in hell I am going though college for a major I don't like or won't use. What's the point? that can't be the only reason for going through all that studying, writing papers and tests. nuhuh, not worth the stress. Thankyou for your concern aunties but I think I will stick with nursing.

Btw knitting is going great, I've learned some new skills, decreasing, increasing and making ribbing. seed stitch. and I think that's it for now. Currently working on a ribbed red scarf for brendan. about 3 -5 more feet to knit
