New Desktop Setup

So I've been messing with my desktop a bit and here's what it looks like right now.

Wallpaper is Jason Brooks vector artwork.

Sidebar running Clocktopia, Everest Ultimate, CPU Monitor, Network Monitor, Slideshow, PostIt notepad, Logitech Wireless Mouse monitor, Gmail checker.

Top dock is Rocketdock (very nice dock program....you should really check it out as it's FREE!)

Bottom dock is ObjectDock (also a nice dock program....free for the basic)

The CD Jacket is from CD Art Display (program that links to music players like iTunes and displays the cover art/song info on your desktop)

Most of the icons are custom as well.

The docks are really cool. Completely customizable. They both accept png files as icons. If you check out the applicable site, they each have a video of what the docks look like in action. Both are free.

For those that like the look of Leopard, you can get a lot of the same features using these docks. I have it setup with the "stacks" docklet and I also have Windows Virtual Desktops for those that like the "Spaces" feature in Leopard.

Why go through all this when you can just get a Mac you ask? Well...I don't really like Macs all that much. They're more expensive than PC's. The hardware is older (CPU, drives, etc). You can't really customize them like PC's. Not as much software/games. The list goes on.

They DO look slick though. Simple sleek design. Their OS is nice as well. I love the Time Machine feature on Leopard even though you can pretty much do the same thing on Vista. It's much slicker on Leopard though.

Anyways....if anyone has any questions on how to set anything up just ask and I'll be happy to help.
