Hi, my name is Harmony Waters and I am a 13 year old student attending Amherst Regional Middle School. In school, I was given a Social Studdies project on the savanna in Tanzania. Fertile grassland is turning into desert, because woodcutters are cutting down trees for firewood and killing the plants around it. Droughts come and the grasslands become very dry and die.
Plants are dying because of deforestaion and droughts. According to Edward R. Ricciuti, who wrote thte book,Biomes of The World, "threreused to be a lot of grassland and now there is barely any because of droughts and treecutters" You should not let there be so many woodcutteres who cut down a lot of trees.
I'm concerned because animals living in this area are also being affected by this threat. Most of the animals here are dying or migrating because there isn't enough food and shelter left for them. Most of the animals eat plants. I think that you should try yo help the animals live in a safer environment by protecting the land and making an animal safety zone.
The land is dying from deforestation. The grassland is turning to desolate desert and the grass is dying because of that. There isn't enough water to help the plants stay alive. You should rehydrate the grassland.
Plants, animals, and the land are being badly affected by this threat. The land and plants are being affected in a negative way. You should make a conservation for that land. If you do this will make the world a lot better.

Sincerely,

Harmony Waters
