(no subject)
So Tuesday night walking home from tram, dunno why, but i looked up, and there was this little possum climbing down from the power line onto the skeleton tree.
It. Was. Awesome.
It was the cutest little thing, all scurrying and gripping around the branches and stuff. Just made my night. Dunno how long i was standing there. The street i was on isn't busy and a few cars passed, but probly was only about 5 minutes. And i was talking to it and everything. Cos you know, i'm normal in every way possible. Anyway, i ended our little one sided conversation with "seeya tomorrow night".
Wednesday night, approaching the trees i looked up and there he was! Couldn't believe it. Yes i am assuming he's a boy and that it was the same one. I was laughing and talking to it, and after a while of chat it looked down. I dunno where he thought that weird sound was coming from, but from the way he stared at me, completely transfixed, it would seem that he did not know i was there. It just stared at me, leaning around a branch, i thought he was gonna jump down to me.
Well, now i'm on a mission to find out what they eat (i grew up in a country where we kill possums! couldn't believe it when i came here!) so i can make it love me!
Also, saw a dead baby possum on the way to work this morning. Few hundred metres away from MY possum's tree, so hopefully my little one's ok.
So, i have cousins who i've never met, huge ext family. One of my cousins, who i personally think is quite the bitch, due to her father being an abusive fucker had a baby not long ago, and the aunty, her mother, says she's real lonely and upset with the new baby and stuff, so mum wants me to send her a card. I have never met this woman. But you know, a random card, being first contact ever between us, is sure to cheer her up somewhat! Well i hope it does anyway. Gotta feel bad for the chick, but really, she wouldn't care if it was me. The card ended up saying 'best wishes' and stuff like that. It wasn't done grudgingly, i really do wish her all the best, i just dont see how a card from me could possibly make any difference in her life.
