you're probably a star

music videos should always be watched with their "making of" cuts which explain what the theme and story behind the mv is about. and they should have lyrics on screen! like captions. (with a disable function for people who like watching their mvs without words coz it reminds them too much of a karaoke video)

if the lyrics are in another language, like korean or japanese, it would be great if there was an english subtitles option available, so the non-korean/japanese-speaking fans can understand the mv better. this is, of course, assuming that understanding and appreciating the mv is the point of making one, and not just providing eye candy for the fans to drool over. (those poor mv directors!)

if you are a band who have come a long way from showing skin/muscle in music videos and release a video which doesn't even give close-ups of any member's face, all of the above should definitely be deemed necessary! ughhhh. i just realised that besides being a beautifully shot mv, love song's back story is a boy who is revisiting the accident scene where his girlfriend died. (this totally explains the fires and upturned shopping carts btw. and that car plummeting down from the heavens for that dramatic explosion at the end.)

and as i have just googled the translation of the song, i am beginning to see the awesome lyricist that is gd and top. although some lines are kinda random, for which i'm giving gd the benefit of the doubt coz the translation might have lost the original meaning a little, most are pretty poignant.
like top's rap:
The warm rays of the sun are of another world
The field of reeds are dancing all alone
I remain paused at a green hill, holding a conversation I’ve yet to finish with her
The sky is of an expressionless face that holds no answers
You’re probably hiding behind the clouds, you’re probably a star

and gd's part right after:
I close my eyes and feel your breath, I dream of you
A smile spreads across my lips, you’re breathing with me now
Time, please stop, don’t divide her and I
Wind, stop blowing, this is my last letter to you

i guess gd really deserves all that money he's getting from writing songs

song, bb
