Something so little...
It's amazing how something so little can be so reassuring. The boy is dealing with a family emergency out of state right now. He left last night to go to his parents', and then left for the out of state part this afternoon, with his father driving. He'll be gone till at least Sunday. Honestly, while I'll miss hanging out with him this weekend, family is more important.
But the little thing.
He texted me this afternoon to say "My phone is dying. I'll text you when we get there and I can charge it up. :-)"
Just a little thing, but it really meant a lot. Reason why is... in my last relationship, John flew to North Carolina to be with his family. Apparently, he forgot his phone charger and his phone was completely dead the whole time. I never knew. He never got online. He never emailed to let me know. There was absolutely NO contact the entire time. He came back and broke up with me.
Now, I am in no way paranoid that the boy is going go do the same thing. The situations are completely different. But, just getting a text to say "Hey.. phone's running out. I'll let you know when we get there and it's charging again. :-)" really meant a lot. I'll still miss him, particularly since this week has been so incredibly horrible. But I feel better, I guess?
Anyways. Ramble. It was still nice, though.
