Today is the easiest day of my week. Unfortunately, if the results of this litter's genotyping shows that I don't have at least one of the genotype I need, today can also ruin the entire week. Cross fingers.
If things go amazingly perfectly smoothly right, I get to have a weekend next weekend. The odds of that happening are about slim to none, but I can hope. *sigh* This is the perfect example of "hurry up and wait" in science. I've been doing nothing for the last 3 weeks because, well, I couldn't. Have to wait for mice to breed and get pregnant and get to a particular stage, etc. Though I was able to do a few things last week due to weaning 3 litters. Baby mice are cute. But jumpy. Very very jumpy.
I also found out that my advisor truely is an evil horrible man under a fluffy candy coating. If he doesn't like you, you're gone. Period. There was another girl in the lab that he really really didn't like, and every time they'd meet, she'd leave crying. I really hope he doesn't think that way with me. He hasn't made me cry yet. My work has, but he hasn't. So I guess that's a good thing.
Life will be so much better once it's June. Then my committee meeting will be over. My lab meeting will be over (well, I'll be prepping for the next one, but anyways). My seminar will be over. My writtens will be over. I just need to worry about my next lab meeting, and my orals.
Also, no more TAing after this semester. I am so excited.
