Its been good to get away from it all, the usual stuff that is. This weekend wasn't just another run of the mill hang out weekend with everyone I have been for the past couple months. I'm talking random here, real random.
to kick it off, I was visited at my house my jason connell and conner driscoll, neither of who I have hung out with EVER. We frisbee'd it up on the common where we were joined by more random people I've never hung out with, but still I had a hilarious time.
Next I attended the marathon dance, and at the time of arrival I knew exactly zero people going to this event. A real gamble on my part, but I do love dancing, more than I think most people realize, I think I may have been the only one there who loved it. Turns out Chernga was there, and J Gil showed up later, but I also got to hang out with a bunch of freshmen and sophmores who I've never met before, and Derek Tran and his break dancing crew who taught me some stuff and asked me to session with them over vacation.
Friday night no one wanted to hang out, so I found my way around. I headed over to the end of the film festival to see who was there, and I found dave yim, kt reiser, and ravi. We took a trip up to the parish to see the end of it when Nick Strutt was performing. Afterwards we headed over to Nick Strutt's house to shoot some potatoes, but it was malfunctioning. I hear after I left they shot some flaming potatoes though. Once again, about 3/4 of the kids I had never seen outside of school ever.
Saturday was Brett Klein's birthday party, and some of my usual hang out buddies were there, but it was comprised mostly of kids who I had never hung out before. I'd say if there were about 30 people there I had hung out with 6 or 7 of those ever. Fun fun stuff, especially when we got the cops called on us for a brillant firework display.
Sunday, Easter Sunday at that, I expected to do nothing, but I ended up hanging out with the extended Damiani family all afternoon. Not only was there Jenni, Mikey, Tom, the Mr. and Mrs., but also the grandparents and a russian exchange student. I couldn't help wonder what a jewish kid is doing having easter dinner with a girl who I don't think I've hung out with in about 6 months and her family. Random.
The weekend wrapped up the way it always should; sitting on the back of Paul's car in the middle of the lil Peach parking lot, looking at the stars and just talking with my best friend. It was a fun weekend, it was a tiring weekend, and it was a perfect weekend. Much thanks goes out to all who made it possible, especially all you random people out there.
I noticed alot more people said hi to me in the hallways today.
on a side note, driving back from lil peach I saw two deer near my house, reminding me that maybe Westford hasn't gone completely to hell yet. It made me happy.
