Tianna would like a TV for Reo please, if there's one with a remote control that would be her preference. I can pick it up on Tuesday/Wednesday when I pop round to grab the carpet washer.

One has the capability of receiving remote signals, but I don't have a remote for it. I'm sure with a bit of careful googling and a universal control this could be solved :)

Just added the 29" (I think) Sony to the list.. would you prefer that one?

I was intending to buy a white ½-height (i.e. 85cm) 50cm fridge with ice compartment in the next few weeks, so your offering a freebie is quite interesting. On the other hand, I'd have to hire a van and drive it 250 miles if I wanted it. On the other other hand, I've not seen you in ages, anyway. Collecting on June 2nd would be pretty tricky, though.

Do you happen to know the fridge's efficiency rating (or even roughly how old it is)? More importantly, is it a four-star ice compartment? Hmm.

It's an LG GR-151SSF which must be about 6 years old but only got pressed into service about 4 years ago. I've never seen a fridge with a worthwhile freezer section - they're called ice compartments for a reason ;)

Unfortunately I don't think we're planning to be around the weekend of 5/6 June which just leaves.. well.. this bank holiday weekend which isn't really that convenient either.

Don't think it's really a goer I'm afraid. I'm hoping someone locally will be in need of it and able to collect it during an evening :)

Thanks for the thought though :)

Hmm. The fridges I've been looking at online all claim four-star ice boxes. That's officially good enough to store, say, some ice cream, some sorbet and some hash browns until their best-before date. This turns out to be precisely the extent of my aspirations in the freezing department.

If you're saying a four-star freezer compartment in a modern fridge won't cope with that, however, I have some rapid reconsidering to do. /-8

No, my getting that 'fridge might not be a goer, alas. Given it would be £40-50 to hire a van, then four hours' driving and £40 of diesel, plus having to lug the thing both ends, and lug my existing much-too-large-and-therefore-also-heavy fridge-freezer to the dump… maybe I'm better off spending the £150 for a new one.

And thank you for thanking me for making an impractical offer to take your property away without paying you anything for it. :-p

From someone who is renting a small flat with no freezer, just a fridge with an ice compartment - it does just about suit my needs. I've cranked up the dial to 5 (it doesn't go all the way to 11), and I freeze meat and leftovers as well as ice cream. The meat always comes out completely solid, though a couple of times I've had a melty ice cream moment, I think because it's nearer the front. It's not ideal and I'd like a proper freezer, but given space concerns an ice compartment is okay.

By the looks of things, your girlfriend is totally evil, and you should definitely think again about having her move in. I think she would be MUCH BETTER far, far away from you - in, say, Bolton.

As mentioned earlier, I could do with a medium sized saucepan, and a collander, if you have spares :)

Actually, you saying you have a spare sieve made me think. I think I could possibly could find a use or two for one, and a mixing bowl if you have one spare... *grin*

You should probably come and dig through the stuff we've got. You never know what you don't have until you see it.. although I guess I can count you out for the garlic press? ;)
