I pride myself in knowing my family's history from a few direct lines, however, I am still learning new ones everyday. Here is a direct lineage of one Jacob Broom (using maiden names for the women which is why the last names change from mother to daughter.) Jacob Broom begat a daughter he named Elizabeth Broom. Wow Scott, that's really cool. You have quite the line of impressive people in your family tree. Speaking of trees, I am an ancestor of John Chapman, who's story became quite exaggerated and he became better known in today's world as Johnny Appleseed. Cool, eh? My grandfather's passion in geneology. He sits on his computer for hours at end researching. It's very cool. He has given me so many pedigree charts and stuff. It's neat. And he compiles books about each person in our lineage. It's really quite neat. He gave my mom a pedigree chart for Christmas a few years back that traces her line all the way back to Adam. How cool is that? :) Anyways, I enjoyed reading about your rich family history. Oooh. One more story. I am related to a crazy outlaw. Wild Bill. Wild Bill was an outlaw who supposedly escaped the noose three times. He had three graves, I think. It was crazy. One had a body and so scientists wanted to find out how much of the myth was true. They traced his line to my grandmother, Helen Chapman, maiden name Crum. And they invited her to the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. where they tested the unknown bodies D.N.A. against her own. She was on T.V. and in the paper and stuff. It was really cool. Well, her D.N.A. proved that Wild Bill did infact die the third time he was hung. But still, I'm related to a guy who escaped the noose two times! Woohoo. I guess that makes me a criminal in the making.
