Politics
This is something I swore I would never get really pissed about... but there's some stuff I just have to rant about.
Ugh... I hate dogmatic crap. The fools who vote based on political ideology and fanatic views that aren't based on fact or even personal discernment. I never realized how trapped I am being a religious person as well as a strong supporter on science and my need to pursue the truth. Neither political party supports all of my positions, I find myself in a quandary whenever I have to vote.
My faith is a huge part of my life... but I do not let it blind me to facts and the truth. Humans are, by nature, fallible. I simply cannot accept everything I hear on faith alone. Talking to my friends in one of the few political conversations I let myself get into, I realized what fools people can become when we want to justify or actions and beliefs. This statement goes out to people who support both political parties. You are so enamored with the belief you are right... yours is the only course... that you have lost sight of the local, global, and universal picture. We are so small and our impact is so light on this earth that, individually, we cannot hope to leave a legacy that will be of any timeless quality. However, together we can shake the world.
Humanity has a responsibility are stewards of this planet. And part of that responsibility is to insure there will be a planet left in the future. I hate it when people push issues aside and let them fester for our generation, the next generation, or the next. Grow up.
