I did, he lasted 2 years in hip-hop, 6-8 year old, then came karate and he still take it - he is 13.

The problem is, he was excited about bunch of things - tennis, basketsball (ironicly, he is very petite), soccer, swimming, chess - but now, in 7th grade of magnet school, there is no time for none.

His best friends had bar-mizva last year, they did dance in 1 and did not at all in the other one, although girls were dying to. His budy attend school dances, Eric is not interested at this point.

He is very social and managed to make friends instantly everywhere. I think the lack of buddies in your son's case is in our lifestyle - kids really got no time for quality time with thir friends.

Most of Eric's friends that he meets up with in free time are the kids of my friends and it's us, grown ups, making those meetings happen.

Part of me is sad that he does not get to know real good his friends from school, but part of me is happy he is close with his sister, as they are forced to be home together:-)

Interesting - my sons' friends are all neighbors and school kids. There is only one friend of my friend in the mix. Plus the son of my boyfriend. The rest they made on their own.
My older son is also on the shorter side and likes basketball. :) He is also in the 7th grade and homework takes a lot of time...

We don't have any boys his age on our street, and his school in in downtown Raleigh (magnet), so he can't just walk to any of his friends...

I'm saying he makes friends easily, but he's got no time to communicate - everyone has tons of homework and sports/music activities.

We had to block Facebook, I'm not even sure chatting on FB contibutes much to friendship anyway:-)

He does go to the movies with friends (during the break), and meets up for project work with friends (luckily, one of them is still son of my friend).

BTW, "budete u nas na Kolime" - if you ever in NC with kids, I'm sure they would enjoy each other company:-)
