I'm sad.
Dave's aunt, his beloved aunt, one of the best people I've ever known, Jane Thornton, passed away this evening. She was in her early 70's, but still very active and with it. In December of 2003 she had a heart transplant, and then a few years after that, she contracted lung cancer. She fought it off until the past few weeks, when they couldn't stop her lungs from filling up with fluid. She died at home, surrounded by family (Dave went up on Wednesday), for which I'm so grateful.
Jane was easily one of my favorite people in Dave's family. Gracious, kind, smart...I will miss her so very much.
