(no subject)
Overall I had a good weekend. As usual, did not get done as much as I would have hoped... ::shrug::
Friday... Hung at the house, made bread pudding.
Saturday... Went to the Ren Fest. It was a lot of fun (I'm not sure, but I think *someone* put *something* in my Cheerios that morning cuz I was *mighty* goofy...). Bill, Pat and I all wore our House Jerseys. We got A LOT of comments on them, some good, some just making fun cuz we were all dressed similar. Made friends with some vendors, pissed others off... so is life. At one point, a vendor we had been chatting with for a while was trying to sell me a bodice and I said "Sorry, I just can't bring myself to *buy* garb..." and she was like (in a snotty voice) "Well you don't have to tell anyone you bought it..." ::eye-roll::
It's weird, my views on garb have changed quite a bit in the past year. I used to only make stuff for me and had no desire to make anything for anyone else, now I feel almost the opposite. Now that I have my base set of garb (that you thieves need to keep your grubby little hands off of) I like making garb for others. Perhaps it's an ego thing... to be able to say "yea, I made that". Well that's partially it... but it's more the gesture. To give something to someone you have spent time making just for them. I guess it's my twisted, introverted way of showing affection towards my friends...
Sunday... Well, I didn't want to crawl out from under my cozy Gir comforter on the couch to go to the park, but Bill convinced me (can you believe it?). I am glad I went. Even-though it was cold, it was fun just to sit there and B/S with everyone. Went back to the house with everyone and hung out. Saw Zodi's Karaoke tape from the Cruise (major soul pain - but Zodi was good). Went to the liquor store with Ryss and Zodi. This was interesting, and fun. It was like going to Borders and looking thru DVDs with Roy, or going to Target and looking thru Socks with Jen. I have never really spend much time perusing the liquor store before.
So today I feel... groggy but content. Excited to get home and sew some more. Sympathetic to my friends who are stressing. Annnnnnnnd about to work on the budget for feast. Venus needs the budget info by tomorrow (Tuesday) at the latest. I have pretty much decided this is what I am doing this afternoon at work, make phone calls, make schedule, etc. Sooooo... Veritas be expecting posts from me on our House community and pleeeese give me some feedback. I will prolly also be calling you tonight with questions, etc.
EDIT: Casca - Someone left Mecs (sp? aka shin guards) at our house last night. Bill thinks they are Zodi's. Can you ask him if he is missing his and let me know so I can drop them by before you leave for the airport?
