Wow. These have been some interesting recent days that have past- as days will do. I have had a good time in general. But now, I must curb the excess and work as much as possible. Make money. Lots of it. So that by the time my seasonal job ends, I won't be a poverty stricken Richmonder.
I got a damn letter from my sister Leigh. For those of you that have no idea the importance of this momentous occasion, fucking nevermind. But, let me just make you aware that this is definitely an amazing occurrence, the rarest of beasts. She sent several poems, one of which definitely struck home for her situation, it goes as follows, and yes, I have memorized it:

When you upbraid me for me poems
Catch also a cricket
by the wings,
And yell at him
for chirping.

Completely and utterly reflective and appropriate to her life and relationship with her parents..
Oh well.
She's almost 18! 5 August! yay!

On another note, my friend Floyd is still in damn Barbados! He stepped on a freaking sea urchin, and has a shadow following him at all times. This shadow has a good amount of fur, four legs, and a wet nose. A dog that just walked into his house one day and hasn't let Floyd out of his sight since.. Or something to that extent. Anyway, Floyd's down there surfing his brains out, and hopefully not burning his brains out with a fever from not getting all the urchin spikes out of his foot.

Everyone in the house is asleep.. And I have a feeling that the next person to wake won't do so for at least another hour.. Dave's gotta be at work by 9am.. Niraj and Joe are completely out. Though I'm surprised that Niraj isn't having nightmares involving mad typing of some sort. I gave him my pillow, and in return, have hijacked his computer.. For the time being, all is going as planned. mwahahaha

Today I have to give Daniel spanish lessons, and am having a potluck at my house. Hopefully people will show up and enjoy. The only two people I'm not sure will show are Niraj and Janie. Janie might still be out of town, and Niraj might think I freaking told him to meet me at lowe's...

Speaking of the night I was supposed to meet Niraj OUTSIDE THE LIBRARY, and NOT AT LOWE'S at 10:15p, That night turned out just swell.. I saw Gabe, who I haven't seen for some time. He was glowing. I guess practicing martial arts can do that to a person. He looked to be healthy and happy. Which I am very glad to see. He was calm.
I also spoke on the phone with KC for a record breaking amount of time.. Ok, well, we've talked longer maybe once before, but still. Ground breaking, this is. I usually would never imagine KC having more than 5 minutes worth of anything to say to me in person, much less on the phone. Though we did talk a lot in his car the last time I saw him.. That was definitely nice. Anyway, we spoke on the phone for a good while.. About fairly interesting things, too. Moments I will cherish, as they are not likely to be repeated or matched in any way. Phone conversation + KC + heather just don't = up to much usually, sorry to put it into equation form, but it's the easiest way to say, well, it's just no pythagorean theorem!! haha, badoomching.

So Dale should be back soon/now/sometime in the near future, from Oregon. I think that he might not want to come back.. I think it would be the coolest if he just was like- fuck virginia, it's a beautiful place, but I'm gonna kick it in Oregon for a while. But I dunno. Poor Steve's sick out of his mind, but spoke to him briefly, and with Carlie the other day, and apparently he has much more energy, but he's still not up to par. Po'po Stebe. He'll be ok. Anyway. not sure what's up with Tony, have to give him a ring since he refuses to put his fingers/mouth/brain to any use and hasn't called me. Oh well, we can't force people into these things.
One can only give so much guidance to the blind- to fellow flailing man, and the rest of the time one must wait patiently and quietly just out of reach for them to stumble around, fall to great depths, and learn to pick themselves up- and perhaps afterward to congratulate them. Not specifically or only Tony, but this definitely applies to the approach I have decided to take with life and relationships in general.

Well now, it's time to end the most substantial posting I have made in a good long time. And see if I can prod Niraj into continuing our rudely interrupted halfway intelligent conversation from last night. Though I am not too hopeful. He's just turned onto his back and is now snoring lightly. Him and Joe, with their snoring.. *sigh*. Oh well..
