Been a while-
Since I wrote. Got taught a few good lessons about propper conduct, burying the hatchet, and how my own avoidance of conflict causes more trouble than its worth.
On the lighter side, this proximity stuff rocks- J. is home in bed waiting for me to get done at work.
The brilliant, glowing Celia the Poet sent her list around and asked me to do the same. Its great fun, try it.
10 Things I've done you probably haven't:
1. Wielded live steel against my closest childhood friends and never cut anyone.
2. Drank with Dorothy Allison at the Lavender Door.
3. Wrote a novel and got it published.
4. Was a founding member of a theatre company.
5. Took my dog to his chiropractor, neurologist
and homeopath, while never having had any of the above care for myself.
6. Spent a day in Ogallala, Nebraska during a blizzard/hailstorm/act of god.
7. Ate greasy pierozki and drank warm Pepsi on the steps of the Hermitage art museum in what was then Leningrad.
8. Slept with a woman and forgot her name.
9. Spent the night in a cheap tent in the Badlands
on the edge of the Pine Ridge reservation, before seeing the hills where Crazy Horse roamed.
10. Left my wife.
