I'm not sure about it being related to the Core-- it could just be because of the storm. But it seems like the set up for a horror story, doesn't it? "It was a dark and stormy night" ...
I'm alone right now. I'm not sure if anyone else is here... I was working, so I kind of lost track of the time.
[She's going to pop by her room and bring some candles. Atmosphere! Ghost stories! ...Not that she would admit that. She'll get there in a few minutes.]
action; LMAO RAVEN YOU JERK now's a good time to meet akanetopslugJune 4 2011, 04:39:47 UTC
[ In turn, Yako's just in her office, replying to the messages she's been receiving on her NV-- she's kept to text, to save on the battery, and she taps out her answers at a quick clip. Akane's currently attached to her hair, lingering affectionately over her shoulder.
When the tap on the window (or whatever other means Raven chooses to enter) comes, she's ready for it. ]
action; NICE WEAVE, YAKOazarathmetrionJune 4 2011, 05:00:30 UTC
[Raven's teleporting over, in this weather, but so as not to give Yako a heart attack or anything, she comes to the front door of the building, which, powerless, gives off a nice creepy vibe to her. A little confused navigating later, she taps on the office door, holding a bag in her hand with candles in it and looking kind of drenched. Despite having switched into a dry cloak, her leotard is still definitely dripping.]
Hey.
[Given how vicious it is outside today, she's glad to see everything's apparently normal around here for Yako. Except-- what's that on her hair-- must be a trick of the light...]
[ Unfortunately, Yako doesn't have anything for Raven to dry off with. With a yelp of dismay, she steps over to the other girl. It might just be because of the light that's briefly visible when lightning crackles overhead, but her hair seems to... move as she walks forward. ]
Wow, you're really soaked-- what's that? Candles? [ Wasting no time divesting Raven of them and ushering her to a plastic chair. ] Sit here, I'll get this stuff set up...
[Raven blinks. What's up with that hair? --Oh, well. It probably is just her mind moderately on edge on a night like this. Some places have electric-run Darkness proofing, after all. She looks down at her soaking uniform apologetically.]
Sorry. Didn't realize I was so wet when everything else was, too.
[She nods, sitting.] Thanks.
[And she tries to use her cloak, a little half-heartedly, as a towel.]
It's okay. [ It's dark, but using her phone's built-in flashlight function gives Yako enough light to see what she's doing. She sets up the candles, only to realize she doesn't have any matches-- or anything that could be used to light them, really. ]
[Raven glances up from her rapidly dampening cloak and nods. She focuses and chants quietly:]
Azarath Metrion Zinthos!
[And with a flare-up of black power, all the candles should simultaneously light up. Maybe a little too much, to start with, and she quickly waves a hand to dim them.]
Thanks. [ She starts a little at the initial flareup, then calms down, taking the seat across Raven. Now that she's properly visible, other details become more evident: like the T-ruler she's still clutching in her hand and hasn't quite remembered to put down yet. ]
Well, it's extremely wet. If you really can't tell.
[Raven really likes the ambience of the candles, though, and the snark is delivered with a surprisingly clear affection. She shrugs.]
A little trouble, but I think the outage is just making people stay inside even more. Though I suppose anything could be going on in the sectors I wasn't patrolling.
Hope you're somewhere that has a generator, Raven.

Where are you?

Be careful. I know you can take care of yourself, but it's pretty nasty out there.

Last time the power went out, it was because of the attack on the Core, right? Think someone might have done something again?
Who else is around in the center, by the way? You're not alone, are you?

[Frown to herself at that last part...]
Can I come over, then? Definitely getting tired of all this rain.
