This is a very interesting because it is regarded as an important work of American feminism. The young woman in this story is confined to her house by her husband and she is not allowed to work. She writes in her journal but she knows she is not allowed to show her husband. This is sad because her husband controls her access to the entire house and he is the only one with the key to the doors. This pretty much makes this woman go crazy in her own house and she has to nothing to make her feel better or calm her down so she turns to wallpaper in the house. She has gone so crazy that this yellow wallpaper has fascinated her and she is so intrigued with what it’s got to offer. "The only thing i can think of that it is like is the color of the paper! A yellow smell." Towards the end of this novel she imagines that there are women that are lurking behind the wallpaper and because she is so crazy she believes that she is one of those people in the wallpaper. The summer rental on the house is almost up so she decides its best for her to lock herself in the room because this is the only place she feels safe anymore. The reason this story is so good because you learn about how someone so crazy can make the plot of such a good short story. Its good to see stories like these that are different and make you think outside the box rather just a regular old story.
