Okay so, I went to see this movie because I had to, alright? When I was little I used to watch episodes with my dad, so it was a kind of leap back in time for me. Also: Kirk / Spock was the gateway to slash fanfiction, and I'd be damned if I wasn't going to support that. Lover of hot homo smex that I am.

I was expecting a mediocre attempt to re-create the T.V. show.

What I got was blown away.

Five out of five stars!

Wow. Two movies in a row.

So, no spoilers in this one. I'd just like to point out that the director [whoever he is] definitely knew what he was doing. The movie takes place pre-Captain Kirk, and it basically wove the story of how the initial crew came together, while also dealing with the galaxies newest threat in the form of a disgruntled alien.

The actors were all PHENOMINAL, they knew their characters and did them well. Overly well - I wasn't just focused on Kirk and Spock, although they are beautiful... I was also very muchly interested in all the others: especially Scotty. O god, Scotty, you rock my world. And make me laugh so bad.

The movie was funny, classy and not least of all: intense. There were one or two points where I had my knees up to my chest and was biting my lips and trying not to look and wanting to keep watching at the same time.

And oh my god - if you weren't a Kirk / Spock slasher before [and I wasn't] - you will be now.
