Watching the Marimite OAVs!
So! much! love! Me, and Yumi/Sachiko.
It took me most of an episode to get over the slightly tweaked character designs. They're not bad; they're just different enough to make you o_O at first. Having gotten over that... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! So much EEK! There are so many places where I'm fairly certain kissing has occurred right after the camera panned away.
Sei shows up again! And she is marvelous as ever :D
I find myself starting to like Kashiwagi. Okay, that's not true; I kinda liked him before. But he's starting to grow on me more. It's becoming more obvious that he really likes both Yumi and Yuuki; he's not just yanking their chains ^^
Poor Sachiko is really being put through the wringer. She's having to face fears of men, heights, and lord knows what-all else. I think it's doing her the world of good, though.
It's nice to see how Yumi is learning to handle Sachiko. This, I think, is partly why they'll stay together. Sachiko needs someone to mediate between her and the normal world. Yumi can do that perfectly -- even better than Youko could, in some ways.
In the last season, we learned why Sachiko needs Yumi. Everyone else at Lillian, believing Sachiko to be perfect, adores her; Yumi, knowing Sachiko to be imperfect, loves her. Now we're seeing Yumi start to have the same problem with being adored. Kanako... really, really frightens me, actually. But I don't dislike her.
Touko I still dislike. But I'm starting to see why Yumi likes her. Or maybe it's Yuuki liking her; I trust his judgment, and it's nice to see his relationship with Yumi getting more time... they depend on each other a lot. (And how interesting would it be if Yuuki and Touko got married...?)
Not much Yoshino, Shimako, or Noriko lately.
There is a fair bit of Rei, though. Somehow I never really think of Rei; she's kinda just there. But every time she has an actual part to play in the story, I like her more and more. One of the nicest and least talked-about relationships in the show is Rei's and Sachiko's friendship.
The Hanadera guys are just funny :D
