Feedback, or lack of it

I don't want to start clearing up the kitchen and I'm procrastinating...

Have been fooling about looking at the page click counts for Amid the Powers and Chances of the World at HASA now that it's out of Beta. Not surprised to see that, now it's on the public side of the site, page clicks for the first chapter or two have shot up. Very gratified that the increased page click count carries on for about as many chapters as one could reasonably expect a reader to have got through by now.  Interested to note that despite the surge in readership, feedback except from those of you who'd already been reading it in Beta and got to the end pretty much with me is... zero.

(All right, all right, I admit it, I am a total feedback tart. But given that eight years of my life went into the thing, and that clearly people are reading it, can you blame me for wanting to know what they think? Is everyone really waiting till they've read all 50 chapters before they review?)

One thing the page clicks on HASA do tell me is that nearly everyone starting reading in the last few days has been reading from the public side of the site, ie not a member (or at least, not logged in).  Now, here's the thing: you can't use the "Comment" facility on HASA unless you're a logged-in member. You can use the "Email Author" button, but I wonder if that feels like a bigger deal to people and therefore they are less keen to do it?  Just pondering, really.  Am intending to start on cross-posting to Tolkienfanfiction, and possibly even if I'm feeling strong the Pit of Voles, so will be interesting to compare the read/comment rate there if any...
