Poetry pleases

The Open University, which pioneered distance learning, part-time study and accepting mature students when practically no-one else in the UK was doing it, is 40 years old this year.

This celebratory poem was commissioned for this week's anniversary bash at the Museum of London, and appeared in today's Guardian - it brought a huge smile to my face and reminded me of lots of the reasons I work in higher education.  Cheers to the OU, well done the Grauniad for publishing the poem, and kudos to author Matt Harvey for numerous outrageous rhymes...
