Happything: perfect winter run
I went for a run at lunchtime, on a cold but clear, completely still, sunny winter day of blue skies. The air was a bit chilly, though slightly above freezing, but you could feel a bit of warmth in the sun. Because the ground was frozen, the puddles and mud didn't get me wet :-) I saw a few birds, though nothing exotic - a couple of magpies, robins, and lots of woodpigeons.
Best of all, other than a bit of birdsong and the occasional cawing of rooks, and one brief plane/helicopter, it was completely quiet. Not a sound except my own rather heavy breathing ;-)
And I did 5K in under 30 minutes (27 min 29 to be precise), which is always good :-)
