Arrgh, why are titles always the hardest part of writing fic?
(Titling a piece has been known to take me longer than the piece itself, especially for drabbles.)
The latest ficlet from the Amid the Powers and Chances of the World-verse is done in draft, but can I title it? I want a quotation or a line of verse (not necessarily JRRT) about swords, or blades, or duelling - ideally something that will pick up on the fic's theme of swordplay as a metaphor/cover for another conflict. And have spent best part of an hour poking about online, and found nothing that works.
OK, this strikes me as the sort of problem that is often (like crossword clues or half-remembered quotations) left on the mental back burner overnight. Time for bed...
ETA: Ah, I think I've got it. Not specifically a quote - though I have just discovered to my horror it's also the title of a Barbara Cartland. Damn it, I'm using it anyway!
