KING WINCHESTER

By William Shakespeare.

My world. It is rocked.

Sam: O, insupportable!

Dean: Dude, calm thyself.

HEE!

Thank you. For some reason I particularly love it when Shakespeare characters declare things "insupportable," so that was definitely going in. And "Dude, calm thyself," obviously had to happen somehow.

Thank you, really glad you're enjoying these things, Leonidas. Yeah... for some reason I couldn't stop this turning, well, not SERIOUS, obvious, but kind of meant. Don't slap Sam and Dean, though! As a rule of thumb it's always John's fault.

All of that was brilliant, but this --
Dean picks up Sam’s acceptance letter from Stanford.

Dean: [Reading]

“Fairest Sammy, that art most rich, being poor,
Most choice forsaken and most lov’d, despis’d,
Thee and thy SATs we seize upon.
Thou exil’d student, thrown to Stanford’s aid,
Shalt here be shelter’d, all thy charges paid.”
-- was genius.

Brava!

You win at life.

Seriously. I did my own Shakespearean Supernatural a while back, and it was just a stupid ditty and is quite terrible in comparison to this. This was just... sheer brilliance. I loved every moment of it, especially thinking about John as Lear and poor Sammy as Cordelia. But I LOVE the random bits thrown in that remind you that they're still the same characters... Dean listing mullet rock, "Dad... I am right here," "Dude, calm thyself" (probably the best line, ever), and "...Nnnngh." Hehehe! The last line cracked me up! I love how hotheaded Sam and John are, and how John feels remorse but refuses to call Sam back because he's so stubborn. This was absolutely hysterical! I can't praise you enough for this genius work!

Thanks so much for the kind words, I got kind of... carried away with this, so that was lovely to hear.

Most impressive handling of the language, so faithful to the original in parts and in others...not.
Most enjoyable.
Followed the link from twop and was thinking, Lear would be very cool...

Thanks. I actually could have followed the King Lear scene more closely, as much of it FITS, but it struck me that would be a bit lazy and not that funny, so...
