I just saw a Dragonforce video on Headbangers Ball. That shit is fucking proof that metal is for the nerdiest of nerds.
Herman and Sam guitar dueling as a video game = fucking hilarious (of course, Herman won, even though Sam was playing on what looked like a Sanwa while Herman settled for a SNES pad =P). The whole time they had this little box in the corner that was zoomed in on their hands while they were doing some dumb shit.
The bit with the lead singer drinking some water and shrugging during the 394857398457 minute guitar duel = priceless.
Note that I'm not even really a fan of the band, but I couldn't stop laughing through the video.
UPDATE: I THINK I MAY HAVE FOUND A GUITARIST. HOLY SHIT IT'S ABOUT TIME.
Tried the guy out a second time (first time he was kind of sloppy but he didn't really know any of the material to begin with; I just kind of threw it at him), and he did the rhythms justice. We're doing another session next week to see if he can keep up with some of the more complicated stuff, so if he does well there, he's in. Then I can call some drummers and get something going (then again, keyboards are still a really big problem).
