Ok so...this is my first Tin Man fic..be gentle with me
Her fingers were fisted in her skirt, hiking it up off the ground to keep the muddy water from seeping into it. It had been two weeks since her sister and flushed the wicked old bitch out of her but for the next few days she'd been disoriented. Her family had made it a point to quickly spread the word that it had not been Azkadellia that had been behind the terror that had befallen the Outer Zone but the witch inside her. While most had accepted it and forgiven her there were still the few who didn't, they were the ones who cast her dirty looks and muttered under their breath as she passed by.
This had taken her attention for a few days before she'd simply brushed it off, it helped that her sister was around again. They'd formed a special bond and it was part of the reason that she had healed so quickly and recovered so well from the prison she'd been in. Locked inside her own body. However she would never be the sweet older sister that she had once been. This shoulnd't be misktaken that she didn't love her family dearly but having something that dark in your soul for so long left it's mark.
While she wasn't cold any longer she could have quite the attitude. DG called her sassy, her parents called her spirited, and others had diffrent names for it. All of it was in teasing but she was..changed. For the better? Who knew but it had taken two weeks before she'd finally asked the question, the reason she was now storming threw the woods on the outskirts of the city.
"Cain, Whatever happened to Zero?" His mouth at quirked up but he sobered soon enough to tell her. She'd felt a cold rage inside, which really didn't make that much sense. While Zero had been promoted they'd never had anything resembling a close relationship so her anger at his imprisonment was unwarnted. "I suppose he's still out there."
"Go and get him." He'd refused, with a cold look of fury, before he'd turned and stormed away from her. Which is why she was in her current situation, walking threw the woods on her own. Her parents had tried to force her to bring someone along. They along with everyone else couldn't understand why she wanted him free, but how could she explain to them that she didn't understand it either?
It was true the few times he'd been close enough to her, that's she'd felt him. Cocky had never been a good enough word to describe his attitude, but she'd never been inclined to pursue whatever it was that her body had reacted to. The old bitch had made certain of that, she had a flirt comment here and there to him, watched as his eyes raked over her body, but that had been it. It shoulnd't have made any diffrence to her if he'd been hung or sat rotting in the tin suit.
But it did.
Then, she'd finally spotted it. Her feet had moved faster and soon enough she'd placed a hand on the cold steel. He must be in hell, to be stuck in the prison with only woods to look upon...maybe it was the fact that she'd been in such a prison. Trapped inside her own body, being used like a puppet, forced to watch everything around her happen and then react to it in a way that felt wrong but with no way to stop herself.
She'd lifed her hand quickly rotating her finger around in a circle and the locks popped free, yanking the door opened she let out a very unlady like grunt as his body sagged against hers. He was to heavy to support and all her work to keep her skirt dry failed as she sunk to the ground and held him against her. He looked dazed and it took a few moments for him to collect himself. Ever so slowly he pulled himself away from her to sit on his own and her body cried out at the loss of touch but she didn't voice it. He moved his gaze back to her before looking around finally noticing that she was alone and for a brief moment confusion replaced the look of fury in his eyes. But just as soon as it had come it was gone and when he spoke his voice held a deadly edge.
"I'll kill him"
"No, you will not."
His mouth curved into a smirk and in that moment she knew he'd realised that she was no longer in control. That while he'd been in his tin prison DG had done her task and Azkadellia was no longer someone he should fear. "I wont?"
"No you will not, aside from the fact that you have no one to back you. You couldn't even get in those gates before someone saw you and tossed your ass in a cell for the rest of your life."
"Ah, but I have you now don't I?" Her eyes went wide as his hand snaked out and his fingers curled around her slender neck, she should have been worried but all she felt was the heat of his body against hers. His body had gone very still and ever so slowly he let his gaze slide from her face down to her chest where it stopped. Her breathing was deep and she knew damn well what he was looking at, she still wore the tight dresses and her chest pressed against its confines threating to break free. It was then she felt his hand slid from the front of her neck around to the back to cup it and he yanked her close enough for their lips to almost be touching. She slowly lifted her eyes to find him no longer looking at her chest but at her mouth
"What...are you doing"
"Something I should have done a while ago" And he leaned down to seal his mouth over hers, but it never happened just before their lips touched they both heard the cracking of a stuck under a boot at the same time and she yanked away from jerked apart as if they'd been burned. Not three seconds later Cain and DG came into view.
"Az, are you alright?" She stood to her feet and squeezed her younger sisters hand and watched as Cain yanked Zero to his feet twisting his arms behind his back in what looked to be a painful position, if the wince from Zero was any indication.
"I'm fine" He eyes went to Zero's face but he had the cold mask clamped down already. She hadn't lied to her sister she wasn't hurt but then again she hadn't told her sister the truth either, because while Az trailed behind with her sister and watched Cain drag Zero away she wasn't so sure she'd recived her happy ending yet.
