Aaaand here I am...?

It's weird when I look back on my journey as fangirl. I've been in Arashi/idol fandom for so long (12+ years plus and counting) that when I recently join a different new idol fandom, I can definitely see a part of myself in younger fans. The drive to support and promote your idol, the amount love and care you have to ensure your idols are doing well, the mildly stalkerish obsession to know where your idols are at all times and what they are doing... Ok, the last one seems like a psychotic behaviour to exhibit but yeah, it happens in all idol fandoms ;;

And, here I am. The older, apparently mature and level-headed fangirl trying to navigate my ways into the new fandom, blending into the younger generation of fangirls but still keeping a distance. Because the energy level and dedication by younger fans shocked me to no end. I really can't keep up with them. Am I too old? Too old to start over with new idol group? Too old to support idols way younger than myself?

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with supporting new idol groups. If it makes you happy, then why not? Right now, I'm having the same feelings I have when Arashi is growing and getting famous. Pride seeing the hard work they put into their jobs were paying off, getting them to many unbelievable spots in entertainment world and becoming Japan National Idols.
I think that's the best part in supporting your idols, seeing them grow stronger and better. Watching them become mature and able to stand up on their own in entertainment world like Arashi did. Nothing can beat that feeling seeing Arashi become who they are today.

So please excuse this old-time fangirl while she goes through trial and error to support your idols, making sure she didn't mess up in SNS and other social media platforms that she's not used to. I look forward to see the efforts these young idols put into their job paying off, just like Arashi did. Because in the end, all fangirls want the same thing for their idols. To succeed in their career as entertainer.

By any chance you are curious which idol fandom I just join, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OyM7QjQ0X0
