CHAPTER 1

“What?? How come you failed again this time?” Said an angry young woman with high notes. “ Taeyeon unnie, you don’t have to scream, aah now everybody in this restaurant know I failed again..” Seohyun bowed her head down because of her face was turning into red. “I don’t believe it, including today the total of your failure is five times hahaha it’s not a joke” Her unnie continued with laugh. “Me too! I cannot believe this can be happening to me again and again, it seems to be a pianist is not my destiny. Should I give up now?” Seohyun scrolled her eyes up with no hope.
“Yah, don’t say something like that! Remember the last word from your mom? She asked you to never give up in anything, right?” The older replied enthusiastically. “I know... But this is getting harder, so now I have to move again... My plan is to use the money from the audition to pay the apartment’s rent...” The younger murmured while playing with her finger.
“You don’t have to worry about that...” said Taeyeon, putting her hands on Seohyun’s shoulder to show her attention. Taeyeon was a young woman around twenty three with a short haircut, small face and flawless milk skin. Her lively character spread out when she talks, always energetic and the most important friend to Seohyun. “You know the reason why we are meeting today? You can move to my place now...” added Taeyeon with wide smile on her face. “What? No, I don’t want to be trouble for you”.
“Listen to me Seohyun-ah, I got a new job now” Taeyeon said with serious tone now. “Ah? Really? Whooaa congratulation, I’m really happy to hear that... At least there is something that we can celebrate today” said Seohyun, giving a hug to her unnie. “You can move to my apartment tomorrow and help me packing” Taeyeon whispered from her side. “Packing? You wanna leave? Are you taking a vacation before you go to work? Seohyun asked innocently and took off her hug. “No Seohyun no... I got a job in America so... I will move to America tomorrow...” Both their eyes stared to each other. There was a long silent moment after that news come to Seohyun’s ears.
They decided to drink that night. That is the first time for Seohyun to drink alcohol but in her mind that night is the right time to get drunk, to express her disappointment of all what happen in one day. Taeyeon looks worried to her friend but she could understand why she was like that. She really felt sorry to her.
They walked out from the restaurant, hugging each other. Taeyeon’s put Seohyun’s arm into her shoulder to avoid her from fall down. They walked slowly to Taeyeon’s apartment. Seohyun kept talking along the way and Taeyeon can only listen patiently to a drunk girl talking non sense beside her. Deep in her heart, she do not want to leave her alone but the job that she got in America is the only way to catch her dream to be violinist. “My poor little girl...”said Taeyeon to the girl in her shoulder while entering the elevator.
“Ding!” An echo sound filled the elevator, showed that they already reached the 9th floor, the floor where Taeyeon lived. The elevator opened and they both come out rashly. Finally Taeyeon reached her door with great difficulty. She runs out of breath for sure, even though Seohyun are younger but for body Seohyun grew much better than her. “Ow, where I should put this kid, I have to find my key now...” said Taeyeon while thinking.
Luckily a guy just passed by in front of her. Taeyeon directly took advantage from the guy that walked lightly into his apartment. “Oooh thanks god, Kyuhyun-ah could you help me?” asked Taeyeon to the younger guy with brown hair. He turned his head and saw two women standing inconsistently. “What should I do?” a young guy agreed to help his neighbor. “Could you hold her for a second, I have to find my key to open this door...” Taeyeon said while passing Seohyun into his embrace. A drunk girl was still mumbling to herself. That is make Taeyeon thought once more “Aaaa or could you carry her into my room cause I have no more strength to bring her again” said Taeyeon proud of her quick thinking while searching her key in her packed bag.
“What??” Kyuhyun responed with a mixture of blank and surprise expression. “Please, help me this time...” Taeyeon still insisted. “Alright alright, stop begging and hurry because I’m sleepy. Ck, you take my bedtime now”. Kyuhyun sighed with his sleepy eyes. He changed his mind only to save his precious bedtime. He lifted up the girl, carried her in his arms. “By the way who is this? What happen to her, she is not stops talking to herself?” Kyuhyun asked with wry face. “Aaa i found it!” Taeyeon yelled because she has found her key. “Your habit not listening when other people talking still in there...” Kyuhyun responded. “Sorry, What?” Taeyeon asked. “Oh forget it! Just open the door now, this girl is heavy” said Kyuhyun impatiently.
The door opened and they come together into the Taeyeon’s room. “Where i should put this thing ?” Kyuhyun asked without expression. “Just put her in here” Taeyeon answered while leading the way to her bed. “How could you say a girl with ‘this thing’ ?” asked Taeyeon again. “Kyuhyun-ah, if you not change yourself you won’t get any girlfriend hahahha” The older laughed freely. “I don't even care” Kyuhyun responded with frown in his forehead.
Kyuhyun put Seohyun down gently on the bed. “She is really drunk and she is still talking...” Kyuhyun said with annoyed face. “Hmm I know, just let her, this girl has going through difficult times in her life...” Taeyeon answered with sad face. Kyuhyun saw her sad face and decided not to make any further conversation about the girl. “Ok I want to sleep now...” He said. “Oh yes, of course... Thanks for helping me...” Taeyeon replied while following Kyuhyun to the door. “Good night” said Taeyeon again.
“Kyuhyun...” She called out him again after a few seconds. “Hmm, what is it now?” Kyuhyun answered calmly. “Uhm, could you tell Changmin... that I will go to America tomorrow... Sorry for bothering you again...” Taeyeon asked with worried face. “Why you don’t telling him by yourself?” Kyuhyun asked. Taeyeon just pause in the silent. “Alright you don’t have to talk, I understand. I will tell my brother. Bye” Kyuhyun replied with no interest at all. He never had an interest toward his brother relationship with woman though. “Thank you so much Kyuhyun-ah” Taeyeon said from behind her door. Kyuhyun not answered just waved his hand without even turning his body. “That boy, I know his heart is kind but he really needs to change his attitude...” Taeyeon murmured to herself.

Taeyeon walked to her bed after locked the door. Her body felt powerless and she cannot stand to open her eyes anymore. When she just about lay down her body into the bed, she looked over Seohyun. “You still awake?” Taeyeon asked softly. “Hmm, I wanna drink that again... because it feels so good right here...” The little girl said half awake with her finger pointing to her heart. “Seohyun-ah I’m sorry...” Taeyeon answered with regretful and touched Seohyun’s red cheek. “I know you have been through so many troubles... I’m really sorry...” Taeyeon added.
Seohyun parent’s left her alone. First is her dad. She had never known her father, she only can recognized his face from a small photo in her mom’s room. He left little girl Seohyun and her mom when she was four years old with unclear reason and fourteen years after that her mom passed away because of incurable sickness. It made Seohyun grew up alone since then, her only friend is me and how about now?
Those thoughts passed in Taeyeon’s mind again. She also remembered the day when Seohyun’s mom passed away, they were crying together in a full day and Seohyun stop going to school for two weeks. She was glad Seohyun was able to pass through that hard time.
“Can I follow you to America?” Seohyun asked with husky voice, looking into Taeyeon’s eyes filled of hope. Her question stopped a flash back in Taeyeon’s mind. “Or can you not go to America?” Seohyun gave an alternative to her unnie. After a short silence she answered her. “I’m really sorry Seohyun-ah, I know my decision is too sudden but I don’t have other choice, if I can take you with me I will go to America with you” Her voice became lower.
Taeyeon tried so hard to make Seohyun understand her condition. “That’s ok, I understand... Aaah, now I am really alone...” She said while rubbing her tears that start to falling down. “Don’t cry, I will call you everyday and I will back to Korea to see you again...” Taeyeon tried to convince her. Seohyun actually already knew the answer of her question but her heart could not accept the lonelyness after Taeyeon gone.
That hard day ended just like that, they were falling asleep together with Teayeon’s hands on Seohyun’s grip.
