Whenever Angeal looks down into the eyes of his student, he is taken aback by the depth of sincerity he sees there. It’s not often, one sees such purity of heart in their line of work, so Angeal does his best to cherish it and protect it from the harsh realities of the world surrounding them. It is when Zack whispers “I love you,” in the dead of the night, after their passionate lovemaking is said and done, Angeal doesn’t have to look into the boy’s baby blues to know the boy is being completely honest with him. The sincerity shines right through.
Title: “Cowardice Is…”
Rating: G
Zack knows that his actions are nothing short of cowardice. He also knows that if Angeal where there with him, the older man would be scowling, clearly disappointed in his student’s conduct. However, even knowing this, Zack can’t help but heave the sigh of relief when he rounds the corner and out of sight of his enemy. Leaning against the cold mental wall, the teen closes his eyes and focuses on regaining his breath.
“I thought you were scheduled for your bi-annual check-up this morning. Around right about now, in fact, if I recall correctly…” Zack’s eyes flew open at the sound of his mentor’s stern voice. Looking up, he offered a sheepish smile, knowing he was caught out. Shrugging, and knowing he had no other choice, he allowed Angeal to drag him back towards the labs.
“But those things really do give me the creeps!”
Title: “My Hopes, Take them All”

Upon entering into the Soldier Program, all new recruits were required to submit a written statement containing all of their goals, aspirations, hopes and dreams. When the time came, these statements were either evaluated upon induction into the 3rd Class and given to the appropriate instructors or returned to said cadet’s family in an unmarked envelope, along with his cold, lifeless, body. Luckily for Zack Fair, his made it into the hands of one Angeal Hewley, 1st Class. So impressed was he by the simple three and a half sentences written on Zack’s form, did the unusually stoic warrior agree to mentor the youth. Now, almost three years later, Angeal could still remember their first conversation in vivid detail.
“So, your dream is to become a hero?”
“Yes’ sir!”
“To do that, you’ll have to hand me all your hopes and dreams, and let me shape you into what you will need to be. Let me break you and remold you into something stronger than what you were before. Think you can do that?”
“Yes’ sir, my hopes and dreams, take them all.”
