johnnybvo challenged me to racebend Supernatural this past weekend. Or maybe he just asked me. You don't know.

Here's what I ended up with, we'll call it Take 1:

Cut for length )

This is some inspired shit right here. Good job, Sunshine.

Not gonna lie, I am super proud of Jason Momoa as Benny ;)

Boris wouldn't be my first choice for Balthazar. He doesn't have that sort of sarcastic charisma (he's more "Imma smolder you do death with my good looks" charisma). No alternates are jumping to mind, though, other than say a young Antonio Banderas.

Yeah, I really struggled with who should be Balthazar and kept coming up empty, so Boris landed it. I'ma think on it some more though. There's gotta be someone I'm overlooking who would be perfect.

Also, I was so sure Micheal B Jordan would be your Sam.

Fun fact: when I was just brainstorming for this, he was my Sam! But when I started looking at images of the actors together, he didn't feel right.

Thanks for humoring me. Hope it wasn't too painful.

Not at all. It was more fun than not. I'm not 100% happy with the list, so I might keep working at it even beyond adding in Lilith, Azazel, and Alastair.

BTW don't think your efforts of trying to find picture accurate representations of these actors that would fit the characters you cast them as is lost on me, yo. You definitely get bonus points for that.

**laughs** Thank you! That was probably the most frustrating part of this whole thing to be honest. There should be an option in google images for excluding redcarpet/candids from your image search results.

Even though I haven't seen one second of Benny on screen, I know exactly what type of character he is, and the Momoa thing jumped out as perfect right away. And LDP as Bobby (what?!?) and Amistad as Crowley almost make you mad that those aren't things that are true facts (even though proper Bobby is great). But it is the idea of Ealy as Castiel that is really inspired. He's not my favorite actor, but I don't think you could have done better there if you thought about it for another month. He has that deer in headlights look about him, so he'll have the vulnerable shit down. I think he would be a softer Castiel, but it still would works well. Actually, I think he might play Castiel's angelic properties as more Alien than Collins, which is interesting to think about.

Balthazar -- I think you might have to look at Latino or Asian actors for this. I bet there is an Indian actor out there that would be perfect.

Curious that you didn't go more comedic with Chuck. I know the character changes, but I always think of that character as a joke, and not whatever he turned into later, so my first thought would be someone like Kevin Hart of Aziz Ansari, but I think both of those guys would be too funny funny ha ha, and not enough with the serious when need be.

I thought about Kevin Hart for Chuck! But I always find him to be a little too on the nose when I see him in trailers, like he's not a very natural actor, I don't think. You can see him TRYING to be funny. And I didn't think Chuck should have that quality.

Yeah, I'm sure! **laughs** I was totally thinking maybe Shahrukh Khan earlier today after I left that comment.

It's funny how in tune our thinking is on this. Get out of my head! I'm particularly amused that you think Ealy is perfect for Cas, because he felt like the 'obvious' choice but he didn't really feel 100% right to me. That it works for you for more reasons than his eyes are also really blue!! makes me feel better.

I'm not really up on Khan, but I was thinking Javier Bardem. He's got that alternative sexy thing going. He also has a jovial quality about him, that has that sweet sweet undercurrent of menace to it. "We can be buddies, and go out for drinks, but I just might kill you at the end of the night. No hard feelings though, ok?"

I know what you mean about Hart. I think he's good at what he does, but he doesn't seem to have that gear for dramatic acting that other comics do.

Curious to see where you go for Azeziel. Especially since you weren't big on that storyline.
