i'm just intensely focused.
Saw Skyfall again on Monday night - pleased to report that it completely held up to a second viewing (unlike so many films lately). I found myself noticing the soundtrack/score much more this go - there are some long stretches without dialogue that are expertly threaded with music. Thomas Newman did really good work. And as visually impressive as I thought the film was the first time around, I found even more to enjoy the second time.
Which is all by way of saying, I'm kind of enamored of Sam Mendes. I want to send him little notes that read DO YOU LOVE ME DO YOU WANNA BE MY FRIEND WILL YOU DIRECT THE NEXT BOND FILM? CHECK YES OR NO
He purportedly already "has an idea" for Bond 24, which I hope is a good sign in that department. Although it would not be a good sign for my wallet, because I am fairly certain I will see Skyfall in theatres again at least once, and that shit is not cheap.
As happens whenever I get bit by the fannish bug, I've been perusing tumblr, which, for all its annoying qualities, serves its purpose by providing me a steady stream of endearing behind the scenes shots like these:
And I will leave you with what is, above and away, my favorite mainstream write-up re Skyfall thus far: Are Daniel Craig's Skyfall suits too small? Does it matter?
