So, candle_beck recently posted this fic where she wrote Posey as not just kind of a douche and I was like you know, I'm not feeling this characterization - doesn't seem quite right. But having read the statement he released today in light of the Sabean bruhaha? I think candle_beck may have nailed the characterization after all.
In pertinent part:
I appreciate that [Cousins] made the effort to reach out to me on the night of the play, but I was in no physical condition to talk to anyone. I have not been back with the team since that night, so I haven't even been aware of any other messages he's left for me. We all need to move on, so it isn't necessary to have a conversation with him at this point.
**coughs** dick move **coughs** And the thing of it is, it starts off on the right note! But that last sentence? Ugh. If he didn't have a PR person review the statement before he released it, his agent should be fired, and if a PR person did review it before he released it, the PR person should be fired. Because you've got your injured client miraculously managing to come off as the asshole in this situation. This kid had this great rep as a class act. Now's the time he's supposed to be earning it.
