- Eric Chavez hit his first homer of the spring, putting the cherry on top of what has been a fantastic spring for the veteran. Chavez, who is hitting .410, is locked in as the backup corner infielder, though the Yankees are unlikely to make it official until Monday.

On the one hand - wasn't Swish going all New York hard enough to stomach? But on the other, you have to be pleased for Chavs. It's hard not to feel good about a guy actually making something out of his fresh start.

And when did Nyjer Morgan get traded to the Brewers? Not that it's a bad thing; when I heard Ankiel was getting his OF spot, fair or not, I could just imagine the ugliness that was gonna brew in the Nats clubhouse. If the reputation Morgan earned himself last year isn't deserved, he's gonna have to do a lot of work to clear it.
