~ Did Rich Harden just pick up Derrek Lee's bat so that he could carry it back to the dugout? I think he did. His schoolgirl crush on D.Lee is quite possibly the cutest. thing. ever.
(The Cubs game was delayed by rain for a bit. Judge said I could secure* at 3:00pm, so I got home in time for the top of the second.
* He says this is Navy slang for check out, but I don't think I believe him. I mean, I've never heard it, and between a decade of JAG and various incarnations of Star Trek, you think it would have come up. But maybe it's an old reference to securing a sail before moving away from your post to attend to other things? Who knows. He's also says "overhead" for ceiling, and "deck" for floor. The judge is pretty special.)
~ Jayson Werth has been named to the All Star roster, to replace Carlos Beltran. I called bullshit, but it seems that it wasn't manager favoritism at work. According to mlb.com: [A]ny injured starter will be replaced by the top vote-getter on the player ballot who's not a starter.
