Now in Detroit. Flight karma struck, rendering us 40 minutes late in arriving, causing us to miss our flight home. The World Series has made it so the next flight home is Tuesday. So we're going to Chicago instead and taking the train.

totally unrelated, but I talked up the program to my school and Mike G sent out a really nice letter. There's a huge amount of interest...I've already gotten emails from an MS3 who wants to rotate there and two of my classmates who are really interested in interviewing. Prepare for the Arizona onslaught.

Where on earth are you trying to get to that flying to Chicago is faster than driving?

Sorry, I'm just rather familiar with drive times from Detroit...

South Bend. ~3 hours drive time from Detroit vs 1 hour flight + 2 hours train.
Don't have to deal with renting a car and trying to get reimbursed from the airline, either :)
